Terms of use
The conditions under which you may use the ISMOS site, campus and materials.
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Who we are and what these terms cover
ISMOS is a Spanish-language technical education project about Bitcoin, operated by Libreria de Satoshi, Inc., a corporation organized in the state of Delaware, United States, with a postal contact address at 651 North Broad Street, Suite 201, Middletown, DE 19709, United States.
These terms govern use of the ismos.xyz site, the campus.ismos.xyz campus and the materials we publish. By using them, you accept them. If you disagree with any of them, the remedy is not to use the service.
What we offer
Courses, programs, grants, residencies and learning materials, most of them free. Some require an application and admission; others are openly accessible.
We do what is reasonable to keep the service available and the content correct, but it is provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors, and we may modify, suspend or withdraw any part of the service. If we withdraw a course already running, we will tell the people enrolled in it.
Your account
You are responsible for activity under your credentials and for keeping them safe. The details you give us on registration must be truthful. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the code of conduct, or where the law requires it. Except in cases of serious abuse, we will warn you first.
How we expect you to behave
Studying here means taking part in a community, and that part has a document of its own: the code of conduct, which forms part of these terms. Read it, it is short.
On top of what that document says, there is the platform itself:
- Do not share your credentials, or pass off someone else’s work as your own.
- Do not attempt to breach the site’s security or reach what is not yours to reach.
- Do not post illegal content, malware or spam.
- Do not bulk-extract content or data by automated means without permission.
If you find a security vulnerability, tell us privately at seguridad@ismos.xyz before making it public. We appreciate responsible disclosure and will not retaliate for it.
Intellectual property
Ours
Course materials, text and images belong to their respective authors and are published under whatever licence each one states. Where nothing else is stated, content is offered for personal and educational use, and reuse requires attribution. The ISMOS name and logo are not covered by those licences.
Much of our code is open source and lives on GitHub, each repository under its own licence.
Yours
What you create — exercises, projects, course proposals — remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute it as part of the service.
If you propose or teach a course, the teacher agreement applies to you on top of these terms — that is where the specific conditions live.
One concrete consequence is worth keeping in mind: by submitting a course proposal, you accept that its content is recorded as a pull request in the LibreriadeSatoshi/courses repository, credited to the name or username you gave. That repository is private right now, but the plan is to open it to the public. Submitting one obliges nobody to accept it, and accepting it does not guarantee the course will ever run.
Applications, admission and grants
Applying does not entitle you to a place. Admission depends on each program’s criteria and on the places available.
Grants and funding are additionally governed by the specific conditions of each call, which prevail over these terms as far as they are concerned.
Sanctions restrictions
We cannot provide the service to people resident in territories under international sanctions that bind us. That is why we check the declared country of residence, and that check may block a course proposal or admission to a program.
Donations
Donations are voluntary and, by their nature, non-refundable. They grant no consideration, no place and no preferential treatment. A blockchain transaction is irreversible: check the amount and the address before confirming.
Third-party links and services
We link to services we do not control — GitHub, Discord, wallets, identity providers — and we are not answerable for their content or their practices. Using them is governed by their own terms.
Limits of liability
The content is educational and does not constitute financial, legal or tax advice. Decisions you make about your bitcoin, your keys or your money are yours.
We will labour one point, because it is where most is lost: custody of your private keys is yours alone. We do not hold them, we cannot recover them, and nobody on our team will ever ask you for them.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or data loss arising from use of the service. None of the above excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update them. If a change is substantial we will announce it on the site and update the date on this page. Continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting the version in force.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States, and the competent courts are those of that state.
This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence: where those rules protect you, they keep protecting you.
