Projects
The open source projects the people we fund work on. Each one links to its code.
Bitcoin Core and low-level libraries
Bitcoin's reference implementation: full node, wallet and RPC.
C++ library and code generator for calling functions and sharing objects across processes; the foundation for splitting Bitcoin Core into multiple processes.
Rust crate generated from Bitcoin Core's Cap'n Proto schemas, for talking to its IPC interface from Rust.
Serialization and RPC system (tools and C++ library) underpinning Bitcoin Core's IPC.
Modern, lightweight, descriptor-based wallet library written in Rust.
Network observation
Tooling to detect P2P anomalies and attacks on the Bitcoin network using Bitcoin Core honeypot nodes.
Rust monitor for BIP300/301 (drivechain) enforcer events, state and metrics.
P2P and Nostr
Peer-to-peer bitcoin exchange platform built on Lightning and Nostr, non-custodial and KYC-free. Includes the daemon, mobile and desktop clients, a push-notification server and the protocol specification.
Telegram bot for peer-to-peer bitcoin trading over the Lightning Network.
Private, decentralized messenger built on Nostr and the Marmot Protocol, with MLS-based end-to-end encrypted group messaging.
Lightning
Ready-to-go Lightning node implementation built on LDK.
Fully functional Lightning node in daemon form, based on LDK.
Lightning payments platform for developers and agents: checkout, subscriptions, webhooks and agent wallets.
Self-custodial Lightning payment backend on ldk-node: merchants receive payments with no on-chain bitcoin or manual channel management, thanks to JIT channels via LSPS2.
Standalone daemon that connects to LND and adds BOLT 12 (offers) to it using LDK.
Wallets and custody
Open-source, non-custodial, privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet (WabiSabi coinjoin) for Windows, Linux and Mac. NWabiSabi is the .NET implementation of the WabiSabi protocol.
Nostr library written in F#.
Bitcoin multisig and inheritance platform, trust-minimized and KYC-free.
Federated e-cash mint on Bitcoin and Lightning: community custody with Chaumian privacy.
Own projects and research
Lottery-style Stratum V2 mining pool for home miners (Bitaxe, NerdAxe): whoever finds a block gets the full reward, plus a monthly pot for the best share.
Fixed-term, BTC-collateralized hedge contract on Arkade, ported from AnyHedge: one side locks a USD value, the other takes the price move, settled by an oracle.
Prototype threshold blind-credential scheme for e-cash (Pointcheval–Sanders signatures over BLS12-381) with unlinkable zero-knowledge spends.
Quantum Canary Address Generation Protocol.
ISMOS
Open-source Bitcoin education organization for LATAM, Spain and Africa. Its repos include Scholar Wallet (non-custodial Bitcoin/Lightning web wallet, with the seed generated and encrypted in the browser, built on Breez SDK Spark), B4OS Master Dashboard (tracking B4OS students' progress on GitHub Classroom), B4OS Challenges & Courses (Bitcoin and Lightning development challenges and courses), the Moodle plugin local_btcrewards, the B4OS and Africa landing pages, and the intranet.
