From Your Node to an Observatory: Data Engineering and Observability in Bitcoin P2P
About the course
A technical, hands-on course on turning a Bitcoin Core node into an observation platform. Students will combine RPC, ZMQ, logs, P2P events and USDT tracepoints to build a telemetry pipeline, expose metrics with Prometheus, and analyze in Grafana the network as your node sees it.
Audience: Bitcoin developers, data engineers, SRE/infrastructure engineers, researchers and node operators who want to turn Bitcoin Core data into telemetry they can analyze.
Requirements: solid knowledge of Bitcoin Core and P2P protocol fundamentals; intermediate programming in Python or Rust and basic async concepts; command line and Docker; basic Linux experience.
