Our commitment, your commitment

In the interest of fostering an open and respectful environment, we commit to making participation in our community an inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Expected behaviour

• Be kind and empathetic.
• Listen before speaking, and make room for others.
• Help without being condescending.
• Use respectful, kind and inclusive language in every interaction.
• Respect opinions and experiences that differ from your own.
• Give others practical, constructive feedback when they ask for it.
• Call people by their names, nicknames and preferred pronouns.
• Assume the best intentions in others, and approach them with humility.

Unacceptable behaviour

• Harassment.
• Asking for private information.
• Asking for money, Bitcoin or sats without approval from ISMOS.
• Asking for investments, seed words or seed phrases.
• Using a name that is not yours in order to impersonate someone else. For example: Craig impersonating Satoshi without being Satoshi.
• Conduct or speech that could be considered sexist, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory or offensive in nature.
• Showing disrespect towards others: jokes, laughing at or mocking someone, insinuations, dismissive attitudes.
• Using unwanted, suggestive, derogatory or inappropriate nicknames or terms.
• Antagonistic behaviour: always looking for a fight, or taking the opposite side to stir up controversy.
• Spam or self-promotion in inappropriate channels.

Sanctions and removal

Anyone who behaves unacceptably forfeits any opportunity to be part of the ISMOS team or to be an Education Lead. They forfeit any opportunity to obtain completion certificates for any activity. They forfeit any opportunity to receive grants. They may be sanctioned and banned from the community for a set period of time. They may be removed indefinitely.
