B4OS was born with a clear mission: to give Latin America and the Spanish-speaking community a leading role in the global development of Bitcoin.
For years, the technical talent contributing to the protocol has been concentrated in cities like London, New York or San Francisco. Latin America has lagged behind despite the great potential we have. We deeply believe this must change, and B4OS is our way of making it happen.
In 2024, we saw brilliant developers from Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain go from being Bitcoin enthusiasts to becoming full-time contributors on high-impact projects:
- 7 devs received full-time grants.
- Others joined companies in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
- Some obtained micro-grants to keep contributing to open source part-time
- All of them finished with a solid portfolio, a global network of contacts and experience in a censorship-resistant technology like Bitcoin.
